Turkey has a long and renowned tradition in textile production and especially the Aegean region has for millennia been recognized for their high-quality cotton. Hence, Aegean cotton has extra-long fibers, meaning that the towels are both fluffy, durable and absorbent -and getting even softer after washing.

The luxurious towels are GOTS and OEKO-TEX certified, which means they are made without hazardous chemistry and therefore safe to use – also for the sensitive or allergic skin. Furthermore, the GOTS label ensures that the whole “life cycle “of the product has been subject to the strictest environmental requirements, from the first seed throughout cultivation, processing, storing and transportation. Also, social and ethical criteria have to be met in the area of fair and hygienic working conditions, no child labor and reasonable pay.

Unlike conventional cotton, GOTS certified organic cotton has not been treated with shrink resistant chemistry. As cotton can shrink at high temperatures, it is recommended that you use lower temperatures for both washing and drying. The towels can be washed at 40 degrees with a short spin and tumbled dried at a low temperature. At the same time preserving the handmade embroideries. Bleach should be avoided. Note: In many countries they use cold water detergents for lower washing temperatures, thereby also benefitting the environment.
